All products from BL / formerly known as BLINK are very high reputable, great quality and a great range to explore. If this glue is not your preference try another. You may need a faster or slower drying time depending on your application technique and room environment. Many lash technicians have different favorites and use different adhesives for different clients, room environments and seasons of the year.
Always store the eyelash extension glues in an upright position, preferably in a sealed bag, glass jar in a dry cool environment. Some like to use a glass jar with rice to prevent moisture from degrading the glue quality.
Directions for use of eyelash extension professional glue/adhesive
- Shake Glue bottle for 1 min prior to eyelash extension application
- Dispense 1 drop of adhesive on jade stone/crystal plate/glue ring
- Clean the nozzle
- Replace the cap on the glue
NOTE: To preserve the life of the glue, after dispensing adhesive, set the bottle in an upright position and wait for the glue to rise to the top of the inside of the nozzle. Tapping the glue on the surface can help this. This allows the bottle to ‘burp’ itself, releasing any trapped air from inside the bottle. Sometimes tapping the bottle can help carefully squeeze out excess glue trapped in the nozzle (some call this burping). When you see the adhesive rise to the top and escape from the bottle much of it will go back down the nozzle. Wipe the nozzle with something lint free ie, wax paper or baking paper and replace the cap immediately. This technique should prevent excess glue blocking the nozzle and disturbing the seal on the bottle. A bad seal on the bottle would allow more oxygen into the bottle and therefore reduce the life of the glue.
OPTIMISING CLIENT RETENTION
For superior lash retention, it is very important to control your salon environment. We want the ideal environment for optimal glue / adhesive performance.
To check your room environment you will need to use a Hygrometer. A hygrometer is a device used to measure the water vapor in the atmosphere and the temperature.
The optimum temperature for glue performance- 21-24 degrees
If under 21 degrees you will need to heat the room
If over 24 degrees you will need to cool the room (get an air conditioner unit/ open the window)
Optimum humidity for glue performance - 45 % – 55 %
If over 55% you need a dehumidifier in your room to remove excess room moisture
If under 45% you will need a humidifier to add moisture to the room
Failing the room environment being perfected, you can still experience lash retention issues. Premature lash loss is best to solve with troubleshooting methods
Is your glue fresh? At LashHouse we now prefer to stock smaller bottles to retain glue shelf life. We turn over our glue stock every 2 weeks and have a fast adhesive turnover. We advise that you don’t stock up on too many glues when purchasing, it is advisable to have one back up on hand should your current glue deteriorate. We now stock smaller 2ml and 5ml bottles to retain freshness.
As soon as you see the consistency of your glue begin to change.ie, go gloopy, and thicker, you should replace your glue with a fresh adhesive.
Is your room environment optimal- check temperature and humidity
Is your glue drying too quickly for your application technique? Is more than one technician in your salon using the same glue? All with different operating speed? Are you working too dry? Dipping the lash and placing it after it has already started to set means your room is too high humidity. Are you working too wet? ie, the glue is too slow drying for you or your room is too dry.
Is your glue drying too quick or too slow for you?
Fast drying adhesives can often dry too fast for a technician. You must dip the lash in the correct amount of adhesive and place it in in the correct position on the natural lash in the correct drying time for your adhesives drying time. Often the glue can begin to cure prior to placement and you will experience only a partial bond. This will prevent optimal retention. In many cases, a change of application method can correct this. Possibly isolate the natural lash then dip and place straight away, rather than dip then isolate the natural lash. Also as we lash more clients our application speed changes over time as should our glue.
-CLIENTS EYES MUST REMAIN CLOSED DURING TREATMENT. Clients eyes must remain closed throughout the entire eyelash extension application and after for 5 to 10 minutes. Use a drying device such as a fan or air blower during and after application ensuring the lashes are completely dry before opening the eyes.
